An adventure to the city...

*waves to everyone madly again*
First of all, if you are wondering why am I not online regularly, it's because I still don't have an Internet connection in my room yet, so it's kinda difficult for me to go online. I'll try to update you guys through blog though.

oK.. it's Tuesday! The second day of Orientation!!! Where all the international students get together and will be given an important session. Yipeeeeee!!!!.... and I ponteng it! *laughs like Andrew* Wait a sec, I have reasons for it.

Like I said, I don't have an Internet cable in my room, but mostly all the important stuff that I need to get it done requires the Internet. Normally, people get all these done before the orientation starts, to settle down and therefore they are free to attend all orientation activities. But I came in real late, therefore I need to attend school's ori, attend residence's ori (the hostel I live, they had orientation too), buy the stuff I need & also do all the necessary applications. I even wrote down a long, and I mean LONG to-do list, to remind myself of everything.

Examples of to-do stuff:-
  1. Allocate my subjects (register for lectures, tutorials& labs online)
  2. Get a cell-phone (can't get it until my bank account is activated)
  3. Go for the bank (to check out whether my bank account is activated)
  4. Register for a library tour
  5. Get Student card & planner
  6. Get Book lists (can't be done if I dun haven't done step 1)
  7. Register for "Big Day Out" for international students
  8. Get OSHC card (that's my health card. Dunno wat's it for, to prove I'm healthy I guess. But it's compulsory for international students& it's super expensive! The country just wanna eat our money)
  9. Get groceries (FAN!!! hangers, detergent, laundry basket, kettle, etc...)
  10. Find out where's the laundry room & vacuum cleaner in my residence (I missed the Residence's ori, it was on 16 or 17, was in Great Ocean Road)
There's more littler stuff I think, and all of these need to be done before my school starts which is on the 26th of Feb. Was super stress up, but still thank god for the good weather at night for my beauty sleep. (Although I still need to sleep on the floor, because my sis is still with me) *grins*
SO! Because of all these unforeseen circumstances, I am force to ponteng. (kids, dun do tis at school k? *guai guai*)

Yesterday night after dinner with the families, Julia jie jie took James, big sis & I to the K-mart, where we get all our groceries done. (owe Julia jie jie a lot, she's super kind! ^_^) BUT!!!!! The FAN WAS OUT OF STOCK! *faints* So, another night without a fan, but like I mentioned, the wheather was quite cooling, love God!
Next morning, get a pink doughnut for breakfast and head for the library computers to get my classes registered. Oh yeah the subjects I took was quite interesting, can't wait till school starts:-
  1. Psychology (Definitely gonna Major tis)
  2. Socialogy (This may compliment my major as a minor subject)
  3. Anthropology (hehe...tis one's cool! And according to my sis, it's quite difficult, so I took it as a challenge, it'll be one of my electives. Get to study culture, power & globalisation)
  4. Korean (haha...tis is definitely for the fun of it! According to my sis, my above subjects are quite difficult and taking a new language as a subject can be quite easy to score, plus is just an elective! I'll just tryout for one semester. If I dun like it, most probably will continue chinese)

My timetable... Not really satisfy with it. I get Thursday off & for Friday, one morning class only. But... *sigh* Monday & Wednesday is ok; Tuesday? Got 6 hours of classes straight!! A lot of tutorials are full, so I dun hav much choice. I dun think I'll be ale to concentrate much in such long hours. Oh well, no complaints! God's will!

To cut it short...

In the morning, I've done some of the above stuff in the morning with my sister. Others, like getting CELL PHONE, printers, internet cables, fan heater etc. Well, I need to go to the city & get all those, & just so happens my sis intends to meet up with her doll mates to polish their dolls together, so... I went with her. Besides getting my stuff in the city, I need to learn my way to the city, because according to my sis, everything I need, can get from the city. It was a long way to the city from my school. And being a "easily get yourself lost" Queen! It's really hard for me to memorise all the roads, but.... I need to get use to it!

I never ride on a public bus before, never sit on a train before and never see a tramp before. Today, on my trip to the city, I get to sit all of them! ^_^ Bought a daily ticket from the bus conductor & it brought me from bus to train and from train to tramp! YAY!! all my first rides in a day! The city is full with people! Hehe... I felt like a country mouse entering a city.

Anyways, I just hope that I know how to go the ciy next time without my sis's assistance. Enough of updates!

p.s Haha... There's really a lot of stuff that needs to be done when you are in oversea studying & an international student. You cannot be blur like me! Thank god I have my big sis to guide me in everything. If anyone of you younger one's are planning to come to aust, i'll definitely will be willing to help you out! ^_^

A different lattitude

Here I am!! I'm in a kangaroo land!! *waves madly to everyone*
Life now?! it's a big challenge

15th & 16th Feb
There are currently a few new people in my life now. First, Paul (James's big bro!) , Julia (Paul's wife), Peter(James's 3rd Bro), Ching (Peter's fiance) & not leaving out the cutie Emily!
Paul & Julia are the ones that pick us up from the air-port after the long hours of flight & my family are also currently living in their house while Uncle Stephen & Aunt Liz live in Julia's parent's house.
The next morning, we had breakfast at Uncle Arthur& Aunt Anne's (Julia's parents) house. This is the first time I had a typical Aussie breakfast, beacons, eggs, bread, cappuccino, Avogadro fruit (Emily's favourite)& some grains with milk which i think it calls "Missues"?? But it was a great breakfast.

After breakfast, we get to go to...... MARKET! It is to buy the food for tonight's barbecue at Paul gogo's house. And guess what? Those selling all the meats, fruits &vegetables are really "kuai lous". I get to see with my own eye! *cheers* Oh yeah, they don't call out "lelong! lelong!" while they sell the goods, instead they say "fresh fruits for sell! one melon for 2 dollar!".
After we done shopping, went for "Dim Sum". Yum yum... Found out that Emily likes Pau, but not the filling.
Here's the scary part... After lunch, I'm suppose to go check-in to my hostel & also open a bank account in Australia. I am SO blessed by god!! I've no need to settle all these by myself, daddy, mummy, big sis, uncle Stephen(drives) & Julia jie jie (lead the way) accompanied me to finish up everything, really can't do anything without them.

Night, was barbecue night. Peter, Ching & James join the group! The food was really yummy too! We had lamb, beef, sausages, chicken on stick, pork, prawns, salmon, another big yummy fish (bought by only the fish profession- uncle Stephen) and also salad. The barbecue was also cooked by the profession Paul.

After meal was fellowship. I get to know the brothers & sisters more, very nice & kind people! hehe... can say the brothers are just the older version of James, very similar. You'll know what I mean when you meet them..^_^ Paul "go go" even suggested I can go tryout his church this Sunday. Hope I can really settle fast in a church!! *cross fingers*

ermmm...I'll try to cut it real short!!
On the next 2 days, We had a family trip to Great Ocean Road. 3 hours drive there, but I get to see various scenic view. [Sorry! won't be having pics in blog de, cuz no camera!! but will try to convince my parents to get me one]

Well, life here now is a blur &sometimes feel alien, especially after I done my first day of orientation. (haha... guess I'm having culture shock.) There are a lot of things I need to settle, bank accounts, changing faculty (no more double degree! setting my mind on psychology alone!I'm firm about tis choice), places around (I got lost in campus today while trying to get to campus center from my hostel to use the Internet, but I found my way, that's why I'm here updating blog), etc. Problems & all the blurs are emerging everywhere in every second!! And lately, I kept telling myself this "I need to get use to this", e.g sharing a washroom with people around (including guys), the weather & just last night, when it's past bed-time, there's still people around making noises, guess i need to get use to that too.

Sigh...but I know eventually I'll turn out fine, guess this is how I'll grow to a really cicak girl (being able to adapt to anything)! And even although all these bad circumstances emerged, I can still always feel god's presence! When I'm weak, He shows his presence and makes me strong!
E.g Yesterday was the 1st night I moved in to my hostel. God didn't dumped me alone there but He brought my my big sis with me! As u all know, it's summer here, and it's real HOT! I don't have a fan! All I have was a miserable one sided window that hardly blew in any air. And the room was not actually hot, but stuffy. Then, I know I'm pampered by the air-conditioned. But at night, it actually rained!! My gosh... God is just great! I had a comfy sleep although I need to sleep on the floor with my sis because there is only a single sized bed in my room.

There are a lot of things I want to thank god for! When I'm here, I always think of you guys, how much I was blessed by God with all the company I had in Malaysia. But I'm here now, and I know I need to move on and continue to allow god to mould me. Hope you guys will keep us in prayers! And I pray that you all will continue to grow too.

Ben Soon once told me something that touched me, which I felt it's very true. He said, Your "Home" is where your "Heart" belongs. Well, my heart belongs to my biological family & also to my family in Christ! Well, this is to my family in Christ. Leaving you all is hard for me, but I really really thank God for putting me into your world. I do not know you guys since birth but less than 2 years. I got to admit, at first, mixing with you guys was really difficult, especially for a very timid person like me. However, I know what are true bros & sis in Christ when I met you guys. Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of the family, I love you guys.. ^_^
